Reprinted from original letter sent to Caribbean Way (agent)
My family (14 in total) has just returned from a week's stay at Cabofino. It was a week of ups and downs but the positives far outweighed the negatives. Because the new ownership is relatively new, many things still needed work. However, the Villa and its floor plan of rooms suited us just fine. The house has character and the furnishings are interesting (not cookie cutter).
On the down side, I had mentioned to Ryan (Caribbean Way agent) initially that a private beach was very important to me; there is none at Cabofino. Also, we expected a more expansive food menu and the ability to buy (and drink) good European or Californian wines was extremely limited. We spent a lot of time going from mercado to mercado looking and finding - when we did find - small quantities. That said, the staff, headed by Juan and Richard, did all they could to make our stay memorable. This included a delicious outdoor suckling pig barbecue and many good island drinks whipped up by the bartender, Diones.
Most importantly, everyone deserves the greatest praise for their handling of an emergency when our 3-year old grandson was suddenly stricken with a high fever, followed by convulsions at 6:00 AM. The boy spent 2 nights in the clinic in Cabrera and received excellent treatment. As scary as the incident was, Juan and Richard calmly saw the family through it. We shall never forget their kindness and concern.
Sincerely yours,

I spent afternoons on the beach at Playa Grande where I developed a nice sun burn. My vacation was so bad, that I will be back again next year. All kidding aside, your staff at Cabofino is great and the day I spent at Villa Lazy Heart horseback riding and playing tennis was a great excursion for our group. Thanks for all the good memories and thanks for the day pass to Lazy Heart.

What a great tropical paradise. Certainly the best I have ever experienced to date. Our best winter escape vacation ever! The villa is wonderful, the views of the cliffs and ocean are breathtaking, and the amenities- grass tennis court and two waterfall swimming pools are outstanding. The villa staff were attentive, friendly and efficient - we were waited on hand and foot. The food was like mama made it.
This vacation was truly an experience of royal proportions.

Spectacular, breathtaking, out of this world! The staff was outstanding and the food plentiful and scrumptious. I play golf and this course was definitely one of my most exhilarating experiences. I played it 4 times! The views from inside and outside the villa cannot be described. Relaxation is maximized here. I will return!

There is no more beautiful tropical setting in the world. A wimbledon grass tennis court, perfectly manicured, an ocean hugged golf course. Beautiful rooms and amenities. I could go on, but you really must see and experience it for yourself. My words would not do it justice.

Fabulous does not even begin to describe this slice of heaven here on earth! What a pleasure palace. The entire staff are incredible and go out of their way to make us feel special and pampered. The grounds are spectacular. Great food, great cocktails, great weather, great ocean view. Heck, I even danced on the bar (after several adult beverages of course!) Many thanks for opening your castle to our family. It's a vacation we'll never forget - - thank you for giving us memories to treasure always.

This has been the best vacation I, and
my family, have ever had. Each of us feel as if we have tasted the best life
has to offer after our stay here. Cabofino is the perfect combination of nature
and luxurious surroundings - a perfect get away spot for relaxing and getting
back in touch with oneself and one's family.
My compliments to the staff - the activities , amenities, food, service and
other attention was spectacular - each one of the entire staff made our stay
special! Many thanks also to Milo - although we do not know you, we thank you
for allowing us to share your beautiful home.
Although I could go on at great lengths, I will sum up my thoughts: this is
a perfect place to just relax - whether under the shade or by the pool - and
to absorb the culture. The tennis court is lovely, the views are spectacular
and nearby golf is highly recommended. Finally - I absolutely can't wait to
come back next year!
In all respects, our expectations have been exceeded! Until next year,

I could never put in words what a beautiful and magnificent place this is . . . not only the house but the island and the people who live here.
Some things to do . . . go to the pools at the tip of the point. Rent some motor scooters and explore the island where your car can't go. We discovered some beautiful sights and beaches this way! It also gave us a chance to interact with the people who are very kind and special. Every restaurant we went to had delicious food.
All in all what made this trip so wonderful was the staff. Treat them well and you will get more than you ever imaged in return.
You must also get the band to come and play at the house - they were spectacular!
